With 45 Christmas tree coloring pages to download, you can print a favorite or choose several for an afternoon of coloring. Use them at home, set them out in your classroom, or keep a few handy for those December days when you need something simple to offer.
Make Each Christmas Tree Your Own
One of my favorite things about coloring is seeing how differently children approach the same picture. One child might carefully color every ornament, while another fills the tree with rainbow stripes or adds an entire snowy forest around it.
These printable Christmas tree coloring pages can be a starting point for whatever your child wants to create. A tree can be green, purple, multicolored, or covered in scribbles. There’s no finished example to match.
Set out whatever supplies you already have. Crayons, markers, and colored pencils work well, but children might also enjoy adding stickers, drawing extra decorations, or creating a background. If you plan to offer paint or glue, use heavier paper if your printer allows it.

Simple Ways to Enjoy These Christmas Tree Coloring Sheets
• Set Out a Holiday Coloring Basket
Keep a few Christmas tree coloring sheets in a basket with some coloring supplies. Put it somewhere children can easily reach, and let them come back to it throughout the holiday season.
I like keeping setups like this simple. You don’t need special Christmas crayons or a table full of craft supplies to make coloring inviting.
• Offer Coloring During Holiday Gatherings
A few free printable coloring pages can be a Christmas activity while everyone waits for dinner or settles in for a family visit. Leave some at the table and invite adults to join in, too. Coloring together gives you something easy to do while you talk.
• Turn Finished Pages into Decorations
If your child wants to display their work, hang their festive trees on the refrigerator, string several pages into a garland, or let them choose a spot on the wall.
You can also use a finished coloring sheet as homemade wrapping paper for a small gift. It’s a lovely way to share their artwork with someone special.
• Add Them to Your Classroom Art Area
For preschool and elementary classrooms, offer these Christmas tree coloring pages as an optional activity alongside blank paper and familiar art supplies. Some children will enjoy coloring a printed tree, while others may prefer drawing their own holiday pictures.
• Keep Holiday Coloring Relaxed
December can get busy quickly. A few printable coloring sheets offer an easy invitation to sit down and create without much preparation.
Let children choose their colors, add their own details, and decide when they’re finished. Some may spend twenty minutes decorating a single tree; others may make a few marks and move on. Both are perfectly fine.
And if your child would rather draw on the back of the page? That works, too!
Enjoy!
